These are some images from the installation The Blue of Distance. There are 52 images, one for each week of the year in which they were taken. These images are as much a visual poem that allude to the Beaufort Windscale devised by an Irish Royal Navy officer (still used to date) as they are to the loss longing hope adventure and liminality, experienced by those who over the centuries have had to leave their homeland. The horizon is an atavistic view seen since time began. It is like looking at the past present and future at the same time.
